Theatre Readiness Workshops

Outline

For those who would love to get involved in theatre but are lacking the confidence, Synchronicity is running Theatre Readiness Workshops.

Each workshop will run for 3 hours, and includes Workshop notes and a tasty supper.

Coordinated by Glenys and Wendy, whose combined stage experience adds up to over 40 years, our Theatre Readiness Workshops are designed to give participants that confidence and edge to be stage ready!

Topic to be covered           

•Audition basics. --How to impress!.

•I’m in! What now? --Schedules, scripts and staying sane!

•Theatre terminology, etiquette and superstitions -- Learning to tell your DSC from your DSP!

•Developing character and confidence


Dates and Cost

These workshops will be held at each term

Term 2 -Tuesday May 4th 7pm

Term 3 - Tuesday July 13th 7pm

The cost will be $70 / $50 concession and will include supper and workshop notes.

Wendy Collishaw

Wendy grew up in Ballarat, a theatre mecca, where she gained a love for all things stage related, performing in various companies and genres. Later Wendy became a Primary School specialist, teaching classes in music and drama, and estimates she has directed 12-15 large scale school productions across Melbourne and Bendigo. Before beginning Synchronicity with her husband Geoff, they were responsible for writing and directing comedy dramas for various churches. These included a Christmas adaptation of Fawlty Towers, Get Smart and Men in Black, as well as many children’s plays. Wendy has been the main Director for Synchronicity Performing Arts since 2014 and has directed six performances in the last 5 years. In 2018 she also directed the production of Mousetrap for Bendigo Theatre Company. Wendy has completed NIDA Open courses in Directing Actors for the Stage (2017) and Design for Theatre (2018). Her other interests include singing in and leading choirs.

GLENYS TATTI

Glenys has a many facetted career in performing arts. She currently works regularly as a television extra, while juggling her role as business partner with her husband in their video and photography service, Nightscape Images

She also works part time as an After Hours School Care teacher. Before joining Synchronicity, Glenys performed in nine musical productions and ran drama groups for children.

In her time with Synchronicity she has taken onstage roles, as well as working backstage. She is currently the New Members Coordinator and in charge of Costuming
