Audience feedback for Pride and Prejudice

Liz Reynolds (Melbourne) : The acting Superb..especially Mrs Bennett & Mr Collins & Elizabeth. The focus on humour was a delight. Very accomplished & professional

Helen Russell (Shepparton): The facilities: Great small theatre. able to see well.

Bridget Leach (U3A Castlemaine): The acting: Overall, a wonderful performance, making a very entertaining afternoon.
Excellent. Very well cast.

Karlene Cockerall (Echuca): The acting: We felt all the cast were very, very good. Special compliments to Mrs Bennett, Mr Collins, Jane and Elizabeth. I had to resist the urge to clap on many occasions during the performance. The stage settings and props: Very clever. Minimal but multipurpose. We were particularly impressed with the use of two novels as a carriage!

Zali Mckee (Bendigo): The acting: The acting was superb. Being able to remember as many lines as the did from the classic novel was really impressive. Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favourites, seeing it live with people from the Bendigo community was great. Also amazing to see a lot of first timers showcase their talents and acting skills. The costumes: The costumes were also great; simplistic and with the times in those days of the fashion. I wished to see more of costumes changes with the main characters, but it didn’t matter too much personally, it was great to see the performance be done well. The dancing: The dancing was entertaining to watch. The classic music is a guilty pleasure of mine and watching it on stage made me want to be up there myself and perform too. The stage settings and props: Gesturing to Jane Austin with her many classics she wrote in her time of being alive was great to see. Incorporating them into set pieces such as the chairs was very effective. Especially loved the big book sets that tried to show a horse and cart was clever also. The lighting design: I loved the lighting to set the mood for what we were to be feeling in the scene. Having specific spotlight colours to differentiate between the letters and back in time events was clever and effective. The facilities: The facilities were good. Having tea and coffee for $1 each was great. The seats were spacious and we had room to be comfortable. The program: The program was great with the satire of the family tree and relationships between the characters. Also having a blurb about Jane’s life was interesting to read about.

Tara Glozier (Bendigo) : The lighting design was very clever… helped the audience to focus on particular things, such as a private conversation between Elizabeth and Jane, or Miss Bingley giving her speech on how awful Elizabeth is. You could tell the lighting was very deliberate.

Shirley Green (Bendigo): The acting was brilliant from all main characters. Especially enjoyed Mrs Bennets facial expressions.

Rodney Hosking (KLFM Ticket Prize Winner): The acting was very professional and well rehearsed performance that endeared the cast to the beholder.

Susan Wight (Family of Cast) : The dancing: Superb! The stage settings and props: Loved the idea of Jane Austen's desk but thought it could have been mentioned in the programme.

Kris Mannix (Bendigo): The stage settings and props: Very clever, minimalistic set and props. Well done.

Robin Hodgetts (Bendigo): The acting was very good, exceeded my expectations.Excellent catering! It was a pleasure to arrive, have coffee or wine before the show, at interval or after the show, with members of the enthusiastic cast.
